Introduction

This year we welcome KPMG UK as the host of our volunteers’ reception and awards.

Every year we celebrate the volunteers who act as workshop facilitators, speed mentors and festival guides, and whose support is central to the success of the Festival

Recognising volunteers

Volunteers will be invited to KPMG UK in Canary Wharf for a celebratory reception with The Lady Mayor Dame Susan Langley DBE. It's important to recognise the good work of those who support young people, so this year prizes will be awarded to those that have gone the extra mile to explore the many routes into their industry, represent London's diverse communities, involve those with additional needs, and include near-peer networking with apprentices.

Volunteers are crucial

The London Careers Festival depends on employers and their staff who give their time to share insights into their industries. Their contribution helps young people build knowledge, confidence and a clearer sense of their future career options.

City Insights Day at KPMG

KPMG alongside The Talent Foundry have also supported The Lady Mayor’s City Insights Days by hosting groups of young people in their offices, offering a closer look at careers in the City and helping demystify the routes into professional roles.

Students will step into a professional office environment and take on a workplace task inspired by a real client brief, building their confidence and key employability skills. They will tour the office, network with employees from various departments, and learn about different career paths.

Impact

KPMG has reiterated its support for young people by providing two insight sessions at their offices in collaboration with The Talent Foundry. In addition, they are hosting a celebration and thank you event for all those other businesses and professionals that have taken the time to support young people either through City Insights Days or the wider London Careers Festival.

This shows KPMG UK as an excellent corporate role model to other City businesses. Thank you, KPMG UK!
