E.ON Raises their Profile

E.ON Raises their Profile

Introduction

Energy company E.On promoted careers and highlighted their good work in sustainability. E.On is a household name, but young people at the careers festival did not know about what E.On does and the different roles available. They engaged in different ways for the highest impact: a tour for sixth formers of their Citigen District Energy, an ectogrid demonstration table at the primary and secondary showcase days, and beyond the festival, supporting an insight day as part of work experience week.

Private tour
E.On opened the doors to their Citigen site to school pupils for the first time, a tri-generation power plant hidden behind an old city building façade. A private tour from the lead engineer was followed by an interactive work task in the building’s heating and energy training room.

Sustainable energy workshop
E.On’s Ectogrid demonstration table was a popular feature at the careers showcases in the spring. Plus, E.On engaged more directly with two schools by delivering a sustainable energy workshop as part of Year 10 work experience week in the summer. This supported those schools to provide a stable careers programme across the year.

Impact

Working with the London Careers Festival is mutually beneficial. E.ON helped learners to discover career roles they didn’t know about while also raising its profile with the younger generation as a leader in sustainable and green technologies.
