Keltbray and Animate Arts

Keltbray and Animate Arts

Introduction

It is important to consider younger learners within careers provision, as it allows them to explore their interests ahead of time. Engineering company Keltbray joined forces with creative facilitators Animate Arts to deliver interactive workshops for 100 primary school leaners per session that explored the many different job roles involved in building a city, and all while the learners sculpted their own city out of cardboard.

Amplifying impact together
The Animate Arts facilitators worked with the learners to name the possible buildings and infrastructure required to build a city, while the Keltbray team talked about their real-world projects to really bring it to life.

Bringing an industry to life
After a crash course on how to build with cardboard, each learner chose a building or infrastructure to add to the big model. The Keltbray team were on hand to offer guidance on their structures.

Impact

This type of collaboration gives the young people a fun and memorable way to explore a range of careers in an industry, perfect for primary-aged pupils. For the creative facilitators, the involvement of industry professionals gives that real-world edge to their activities.
