Bringing your school

From photo consent to insurance certificates, we want planning and attending the London Careers Festival to be as good experience for the teachers as it is for the learners.

Useful information

Filming and Photography

Filming, photography, and audio recording is taking place across all events at the London Careers Festival.

You MUST use the official City of London Corporation consent form as it is the official data controller.

We have designed this process for ease.

Option 1

Include a link to our form as part of your own e-form or online permissions process.

Here is the link to use [link] or type out [text link]

We will then hold on file who does and does not have photo consent.

Option 2

If you’d prefer to print the form, you can download it here [link]

The school will need to scan and send the completed forms to us before February half term.

  • a quiet/prayer space available throughout the day

Safeguarding, Risks, and Insurance

All London Careers Festival events are offered as an educational activity. We ask that schools, sixth-form colleges and youth groups follow their own ‘offsite/safeguarding’ policies and procedures.

Ensuring that all young people are able to participate in the London Careers Festival (LCF) in a safe manner is really important to us.

Assistance on-the-day

The festival team or a member of security can help you with concerns around safeguarding, first aid, and security and unauthorised access.

The safeguarding and event management number is: 020 3834 7735

Safeguarding

We have our own safeguarding policy and procedures to complement that of your school. These guidelines can be viewed via the links below.

In-person:

Security

The City of London Guildhall is protected by an on-site security team.

All attendees must:

  • Wear their lanyard at all times. Those not wearing their lanyard will be challenged.
  • Report any suspicious behaviour to a member of security or the festival team.

To report a security concern, you can:

  • Attend the security desk at the Guildhall Art Gallery entrance or in the entrance hallway at the side of the Great Hall
  • Attend the check-in desks behind the Great Hall
  • Speak to any member of the festival team

First Aid

As an off-site educational activity, you should follow your own school policies and procedures in regard to First Aid provision. For First Aid escalations, our on-site security team and festival management team are First Aid trained.

What to do in a First Aid situation

Your own First Aider will be the first point of call for any situation or incident. Where further support or medical assistance is needed, please ask any festival team member or security guard who will arrange for a first responder or coordinate an ambulance. If 999 has already been called, please make the security team aware of this.

FAQs

Have a question about the London Careers Festival? Find answers to some of the most common queries below to help you plan, book, and make the most of your experience.

Do I need to stay with my pupils?

Yes. Please be sure that you have enough staff accompanying the group(s) to be able to supervise pupils throughout the event. The school is responsible for its pupils, and a school may not be invited back if its pupils are found to be misbehaving.

Many sessions happen at The Guildhall, but some workshops and insight visits will happen on-location at an employer or festival partner. Please check the booking pages to confirm.
Yes. For the past few years the London Careers Festival has taken place in the spring term just after February half term.

The London Careers Festival prides itself on being more interactive than a careers fair with most stalls at the expo and showcase events having stop-and-try activities that are great for all ages. You can also book onto some of the many workshops and on-location sessions.

Unfortunately not. The City of London Corporation as the data handler must have direct consent from the parent or guardian of each child. More guidance on this can be found under the Filming and Photography tab above.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reduce the number of pupils on your booking. Many sessions reach capacity quickly and we’d like to have enough time to re-advertise sessions when places become available.
