Careers and Skills in the Creative Industries

Join this webinar to find out about the exciting careers available in the creative industries and discover what some of the key skills are that can help you secure a role within the sector. You will have the chance to hear from the following organisations:

The London Symphony Orchestra: The London Symphony Orchestra performs regularly in London, in the UK and abroad, delivers a range of learning programmes through LSO Discovery and regularly records for studio albums and film soundtracks. In this session you will hear about the roles, jobs and skills involved in running a professional music ensemble behind the scenes.

The Barbican Centre: The Barbican Centre is an arts and learning centre in the City of London. We’re committed to arts without boundaries, and every year we host a wide range of concerts, theatre performances, film screenings, art exhibitions, community events and learning activities which encourage everyone to experience the joy of culture and creativity. In this session you’ll hear about the wide range of jobs at the Barbican, get an overview of the key skills and experience required for specific roles, and learn about opportunities we have for those aspiring to work in the creative industries.

London Screen Academy: London Screen Academy (LSA) is a state-funded sixth form academy set up by industry for young people interested in film, TV, animation, and VFX. At LSA, we are contributing to the change in the film and TV industry by training young people, from all backgrounds, in behind-the-camera skills and providing them with unprecedented access to real-world practice. Through the power of storytelling, our students develop their creative, technical, and academic skills to pave their journey into the industry. In this session, you will learn about the careers within the film and TV industry, the range of skills required and insight into studying at LSA.

This is particularly aimed at pupils who are in Year 11-13.
